LA Colors lipstick in Dusty Rose

Today the sun was out and I only had a small window of opportunity to take these pictures. I will admit, I had this lipstick for a while. I purchased it at Family Dollar. The reason I bought it, it was because I thought the shade of pink looked so pretty.
Glad I took the plunge with this purchase.

This lipstick is a hybrid of both cream and satin finish. It applies creamy, slightly in the satin side but not bothersome. What I loved about this shade is that it is a beautiful lipstick shade that can be dressed up and down. You can get away wearing this for school, a party, date....seriously. It is that user friendly. There are no glitters, in case you are wondering. Just a sheen from the mica color this shade possesses.

Wear time is about 3 hours. But my lips did not dry out. So who might like this shade? A person looking for an office friendly pink, or an everyday pink lipstick to wear in general. The great thing is that this shade is available. So if you think you have to order online (unless you do not live in the USA), you will find this color pretty much available at :The Dollar General, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree.

WOW, L.A. Colors is in a roll here!!! I have yet to be disappointed with their lipsticks and today’s post is no exception! Today world, we have Mauve Glaze. For some reason, in doors it looks like a rosy-brown color. But, you are in for a surprise here!

Talk about $1.00 dollar well spent. This shade was purchased at Dollar Tree some months ago. That color was screaming at me, I swear! I love rosy-brown-mauve shades. For some reason, it really compliments my skin tone. Although the name is Mauve Glaze- it is a hybrid of mauve, brown, and rose. This lipstick, I swear is so pigmented just 1-2 swipes and you are set to go!!! The lipstick itself is super creamy and moisturizing. I mean, these pictures does not give the shade any justice. To me, it is that beautiful. The wear time is about 4 hours, and it leaves a beautiful color on my lips (my real lip color, but better). This is really a HG in terms of color and quality here.

So who do I recommend this to? The person who is looking for THE PERFECT Mauve lipstick. The color and price is just so perfect!

L.A. Colors lipstick in Lovely

Why oh why L.A. Colors do you continue to tempt me. This is one of the lipsticks purchased at The Dollar General Store. What attracted to me was that this color was a mixture of peach and pink. Let me tell you, don't let the innocent name fool you. This shade is a true Chameleon!!!

When I applied this lipstick, during the "daytime", I thought "Wow, a cute satin pinky-peachy lipstick".  Has a cute sheen to it, and you very very slightly feel the small glitters. This does not bother me at all. But man, when I went and saw my lips with direct sunlight I was in for a shock!

This color looks so innocent, but WOW talk about gettin' some sexy on!
This color in direct sunlight is a whole new number. It has a orangy-russet-pinky look to it. But completely indoors, it looks like a very safe pinky-peachy satin frosty number. Do not, and I repeat DO NOT let the name fool you! When I wore this lipstick at night, it looks Exactly as if I wore it on direct sunlight. Wait wait wait...I know you just read up there "When I applied this lipstick, during the "daytime", I thought "Wow, a cute satin pinky-peachy lipstick". I am telling you this color is a trip!!!!!! Its like it looks pinky in one moment, hours later is looks peachy....

So how did it perform?

Slightly higher, about 4 hours. since the small glitters and satin maintained in my lips. I do not mind this at all. Color did not bleed. I will say, slightly on the drier side. So depending on what you like, you may use a lip balm first of after.

Final Thoughts: If you have a dollar to "waste", give this color a shot. Its a trippy color, but Oh so beautiful!

A few weeks ago my hubby needed to do some shopping at TigerDirect (formerly known as Comp USA). I really was not in the mood to see electronics, so I opted to walk around the Dollar General Store which was next door. Here is what I purchased.

In the store, the shade looked very very purple, as in Batman's Joker purple. I will admit the reason why I bought this shade was because I wanted to own a purple lipstick, since I do not own one. So I thought for a dollar, why not? I was surprised to find out this purple is quite user friendly to wear!

Ok, Lets get to the nitty gritty of this lipstick.

At first, when I applied the lipstick I thought it was light. Once I kept going back and forth, it yielded a nice soft-medium color.  This lipstick felt like a lipbalm, which I do not mind at all. I understand certain lip colors can make people look ill, it is quite the opposite for me. This lipstick actually looked sexy on me! I think it is a perfect color for the season. A pretty safe color, if you ask me.

Wear time? Well, like all the other LA COLORS lip sticks I own, wear time is about the same 3 hours with the usual drinking and snacking.
Lipstick felt like a lipbalm, which I like.
If you are looking for a deep purple, this is not the shade. But if you are looking for an office friendly purple lipstick, this shade it perfect.

Spotted At HEB: Profusion and LA Colors eyeshadows!!!

While doing some shopping at HEB (supermarket chain of Texas), I took a few minutes to see what goodies they had for display!!!

I tried to swatch one color, but man they had a hard plastic covering them. In real life, the colors look very beautiful. Perfect for the Winter and Spring!!!

These LA COLORS palettes are priced at 1.99!!! I was able to swatch one color (sorry I did not post, one of the workers kept looking at me...had to move quickly)
The color in terms in quality is a bit below the 88 shimmer palette "color,vibrancy quality". If you are new to makeup, then these LA COLORS palettes are a fabulous way to start. If you already own the 88 matte (original) and 88 shimmer palettes (where you can purchase them at coastalscents.com, bhcosmetics.com, sedonalace.com), then honestly you can forgo this purchase. If you find yourself having to need a makeup kit you can leave in your desk or at your boyfriend's/girlfriends--- then this palette is quite convenient. Only catch is that the majority if not ALL of the colors are shimmers/frosted colors.
You would need to purchase a palette that offers mostly matte colors or purchase a few matte eyeshadows that would be your staple colors (beige, brown, dark brown).
Overall, I am glad that HEB are having these colors available mass market. Its a decent way to pay for the product as opposed to spending extra money for shipping and handling.

One of the reasons I selected this lipgloss it was because I do not own any red glosses at all. The color looked beautiful from their display and I wanted to take a chance on it. Talk about looks can be deceiving!!! I will say I am not an expert when it comes to color. I thought this was going to be a typical red, but this baby has blue undertones!!!

I will say I am fair complected, but honest to God I stay away from blue toned lip products. For some reason I thought I could not pull it off. I was surprised to look that this gloss actually looked good on me!

As you can see from above, this lipgloss pack a punch!!! An extremely pigmented lipgloss at such an affordable price point .81 cents from the sale!!!! Gloss felt nice on my lips, very moisturizing!!!!

Once I blotted this lipgloss, it looked a bit patchy. But the color left behind, looked quite pretty. This gloss lasted about 2 hours of wear time with usual drinking and snacking.

So in short, what are the pros and cons of this lipgloss

I really enjoy this color. Sometimes it pays to be adventurous with colors you would not think would compliment your skin tone.

Before I go on about my review, let me say this has been overdue. I have been quite ill and busy all at the same time. Not fun at all. Even when I was at my worst, I still managed to document my reviews in hopes when I felt better, I can post them. I will say I am still ill. I have a sinus infection and on top of that I work! AY AY AY.....

LA Colors lipstick Berry Ice

A few weeks ago I ventured into a new Family Dollar that is located a few blocks from where I live. Quite convenient because now I can go to Dollar tree and Family Dollar without having to waste gas!!! They have a beautifully displayed La Colors cosmetics (shadows, nail polish, etc...). Of course I am a lipstick person, so I was immediately drawn to their lipsticks. I selected 4 of them (one is a gloss) and one of them was Berry Ice. I will say that I thought it would be a berry color, but I was mistaken. It is a hybrid of other beautiful "berries". Let me show you some pictures and you tell me what you think.

If you would have shown me a swatch of this color, I would be the first person to say "HELL NO...I will stay away from this color"! But you know what, I was pleasantly surprised.

Berry Ice can be best described as a creme blue toned Berry/Pink color. The pigmentation of this lipstick is phenomenal considering what I payed for them. Unbeknownst to me, they had a buy one, get one 50% off (they did not have a display letting the public know they where on sale, weird if you ask me---since they SHOULD advertise it....anyways.....). So for my 4 purchases it equaled to 3.25 including tax! So in short I payed 81 cents per item!!! 
When it comes to performance, this lipstick holds up to 3 hours with my normal drinking and snacking. It DID not dry my lips at all (their lipsticks contain aloe vera and squalane). When I blotted my lips, it gave a nice subtle look.

So who should purchase this lipsticks? A person who wants to experiment with lipstick colors without breaking the bank. Those who are on a budget. Actually just about anyone!

I understand that the brand is not "posh". But you know what, If the brand delivers great color range, great quality and is affordable: you are missing out on a great product!

This is my very first LA Color lipstick I have owned, and I am excited to try out their other goodies!!

I can honestly say this product is a Dollar Gem, Holy Grail Quality and 100% recommend it to anyone!!!
