Big Lots Goodies!

Pin It now!

There is a new Big Lots store that has just opened (I believe) last month. Out of curiosity, my hubby and I went in. Let me just say I felt like a kid in a toy store!!!

Revlon Duo

Found a few of these for $2.00! I already have a silver nail polish and a green one. But hey the price is right!!!

Simply Sweet eyeshadow palette
I never heard of this brand, but on the back of this palette they provided a website (www.almarsales.com). The impression the website gave me was a novelty company. I tried to look online for any feed back on the quality of these eyeshadows and sadly I could not find any!
Colormates Nail Art
I think these are well priced nail art! Coincidentally enough, it is a Colormates nail polish I purchased at the dollar store that I am trying to get to, for reviewing purposes! I will say the Colormates at this particular Big Lots store is well priced. Sadly, they did not have the Donna Michelle nail Art I found at my dollar tree!

Salon Express Nail Art Stamping Kit

Not bad for the nail art tamping kit, considering my local Sally's they are priced about 9 Dollars!

One of the many things I have found on sale was a lot and I MEAN a lot of Pantene Pro-v shampoo. Well priced for about $3.50! Sorry I did not take a picture of that. Not pictured is an item I purchased, that will be reviewed. Let me just say I bought it because the price was right. Well when I got home and searched the net for "reviews", I was blown away to find out that NOT ONLY is the item discontinued--but it is a HIGHLY coveted beauty item! In fact, many people were begging for the makers to bring it back! I honestly hit the money pot with that one!!!!!

That's it folks! I will say next time I have some dough, I'll be going there AGAIN!!!!!

FTC: I did not pay for the items, just took pictures. Not being payed for taking pictures of these items. All opinions are 100% HONEST!

Revlon Colorstay Base Coat and Top coat- a review

Pin It now!

Revlon Colorstay Base Coat and Top Coat

I have promised this review over a week ago, and here are my thoughts.
I have been searching for a good base coat and top coat for the longest time. I have tried high end top coats as well as cheap ones. The only and honest reason that attracted me to buy Revlon it was because HEB had a coupon of 2$ off for any cosmetic item. The base and top coat retails for 4.95 each. Since I used two coupons I saved 4$. Not bad, but the real question was: Can it perform well? Let me tell you what I did and YOU be the judge. I put my hands thru abuse. Yes I did. I scrubbed, did laundry...you name it. I was completely impressed my nailpolish held up. Granted there was feathering on my tips, but no huge chips AT ALL!

I was surprised because usually by day 5, my nails look they went thru a battlefield with chipped corners galore. But after 10 days my nails still look pretty decent! There are no words that can truly justify how Revlon Colorstay Base and Top coat performed. This is honest to God Holy Grail quality. There is No need for me to look for another base or top coat, EVER. UNLESS...Revlon gets the crazy idea of discontinuing or tempering with a winning formula.
One thing I forgot to mention and it is worthy to mention that the brush for both base coat and top coat are big. Perfect enough that in one dip you can cover the nail completely.

Revlon Eyeshadow Plum Galaxy: a review. *picture heavy*

Pin It now!

Revlon has come up with some new eye shadows. Now out of the few they had, I was immediately attracted to Plum Galaxy. I have an affinity for purple eyeshadows and I thought this one would be another nice addition. Now granted, I did see that it has glitters hence the name "diamond lust" (more like diamond dust, to me). I already have some glitter eyeshadows in my arsenal, so I had to keep an open mind how this one will operate.

When I used this eyeshadow, I have to admit I had some issues with it. First of all, this eyeshadow will not work ( to me) with just an eyeshadow primer. No my friend, YOU will need a sticky base like a cream eyeshadow or the la splash base. And if you to buy this eyeshadow with the sole purpose of just having a glittery eyeshadow. THINK again, because you are setting yourself up for disappointment. This eyeshadow will work best if you layer it with other eyeshadows. Using it on its own (unless you have a real sticky base) won't cut it. The micro-glitters in blueish purple are beautiful, yes--BUT again you have to work it with a base. I really did not experience fall out, but the la splash did wonders on me on making sure the glitters adhered to my lids.

So will I recommend this eyeshadow? It depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a glittery eyeshadow to layer other purple eyeshadows, then absolutely. It will enhance your eyeshadow by a bit. If you already have glitters like the ones its showing in the pictures, I would say then pass.
